My name is soledad (oscar) coyoli.

I am an artist who communicates through design, illustration, animation, song and sound mangling.

Throughout my career in mexico, I’ve had the privilege of working with renowned advertising agencies such as Leo Burnett and Kastner & Partners, boutique record labels like Discos Cuchillo and Intolerancia, and international brands including Yves Rocher. I’ve collaborated with a diverse range of clients across industries – ranging from Philip Morris and Aeromexico to Modelo Brewery – each offering invaluable learning experiences.

My music was presented in spaces that hold deep personal significance, such as the MUAC (Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo) and the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City.

below: one of the first animations I made mixing my visual work with ai, following research done with Pascal Champagne for Bain de Minuit.

In 2014, during a UNESCO-Aschberg artistic residency, I discovered Montreal’s vibrant digital art scene. Inspired by its creative energy, I decided to settle in the city to evolve and refine my work — both visual and sonic — through the exploration of new languages, technologies, and tools. Upon my arrival, I studied 3D animation and then continued to grow as a graphic designer.

Over the years, I have collaborated with studios like Bain de Minuit and Please Don’t Tell, the organization Arts in the Margins, and record labels such as Small Scale and Paper Bag, doing graphic design, illustration, 3D modeling, UI design, and researching AI for creative applications.

At the same time, I have developed my own sonic language through song (Soledad Coyoli) or improvisation (Soledad Rosas & Jumelxs). It is along this path that I have been fortunate to traverse worlds and build bridges in this new home, from circus (Cirque Éloize) to contemporary dance, electronic music and sound improvisation.

lately...

I’ve been organizing listening sessions (espace d’écoute, in collaboration with artist Camille Renarhd) and movement and sound improvisations (d’adevïse, in partnership with the collective Estrella distante ~ artists Yuma Arias and Ángel Solís).

Additionally, I have started a small DIY label called la voz luminosa, to support the artists I love and admire.

My main focus at the moment is on max/msp, touchdesigner and lua language, which I am slowly integrating into my work flow.
